Family owned · Eatonville, WA
Real numbers from a local, family-owned installer, not a national average.
At Flow Tech Heating AC & Electric, a whole-home ducted heat pump typically costs about $9,250 to $24,000 installed, and a one-room ductless mini-split about $7,000 to $12,500. Both include Eatonville sales tax and removal of old equipment, with permits pulled when required. Your price depends on home size, ductwork and the option you pick. Utility rebates may lower it.

What moves your price up or down
- How much heat your home loses. Square footage is a starting point, but insulation, windows and ceiling height decide how big the system needs to be. We size it at your visit instead of guessing from the listing.
- Good, Better or Best. A single-stage unit costs least. Variable-speed and cold-climate models cost more but run quieter and hold temperatures more evenly.
- Ducts or no ducts. Our ducted ranges assume your existing ducts can be reused. A home without ducts usually gets mini-splits, priced per room.
- Where the equipment goes. A hard-to-reach spot that needs a crane, a long line run, or a cover to hide the lines outside can add to the job.
- Your home’s power setup. Some homes need panel or circuit work before a heat pump can go in. If yours does, we’ll tell you at the visit, before you decide anything.
- Sales tax for your address. Rates differ by town, so the same system can total a little differently in Olympia than in Eatonville.

Heat pump cost questions
Why do heat pump quotes vary so much from company to company?
Quotes often cover different equipment, different sizing and different extras. Compare the efficiency tier, whether removal and permits are included, and whether the price includes sales tax. Ours include all three.
Is a heat pump more expensive than a furnace?
Upfront, usually yes. A heat pump also replaces your air conditioner, though, because one system heats and cools. A gas furnace only heats. Compare heat pumps and furnaces
Do your prices include sales tax?
Yes. The prices on our website include Eatonville sales tax. Your written price uses the sales tax rate for your address.
Are rebates already taken off these prices?
No. Rebates are set and paid by your utility, and they depend on your eligibility, so we show prices before any rebate.
Is a cold-climate heat pump worth the extra cost?
It’s worth a look if the heat pump will be your only heat, or if you live up in the foothills where cold snaps hit harder. In milder spots, a variable-speed model is often enough. We’ll give you an honest recommendation at your visit.
