Roy Electrical, Furnace & Generator FAQ
Which utility serves Roy?
Tacoma Power's territory reaches as far south as Roy, so many homes in the area are on Tacoma Power, though some may be on other utilities. Check your bill.
Can I do my own electrical work in Washington State?
Washington lets owners do electrical work on their own home, with a permit and inspection, with some exceptions such as property offered for sale soon after purchase. In Tacoma Power's service area, Tacoma Power issues the electrical permits and does the inspections, rather than L&I. When we do the work, we buy the permit for our job.
Propane furnace or heat pump for a rural Roy home?
It depends on your ducts, electrical capacity, fuel costs and how often you lose power. Options include a new propane furnace, a heat pump, or a dual-fuel setup that uses both. We repair and replace both and lay out the choices honestly.
Who installs Generac generators in my area?
We do. Flow Tech is an authorized Generac dealer and is separately Generac service certified, with two Generac-certified techs based nearby in Eatonville.
Are HVAC techs electricians?
Usually they're separate trades. Flow Tech offers both under one roof: heating, cooling, ductwork, thermostats, air quality, maintenance plans and residential electrical work.
