What a furnace repair visit includes

- Safety checks on the burners, ignition, flame sensor, limit switches and venting, with carbon monoxide testing on fuel-burning furnaces.
- A plain explanation of what we found and your repair options, with the price before any work starts.

Eatonville Heating, Cooling & Electrical FAQ
Are there heat pump rebates for Eatonville homes?
Often, yes. It depends on which electric utility sends your bill, usually the Town of Eatonville or Ohop Mutual Light Company. See Rebates in Eatonville on this page for current programs and links to the official pages. Flow Tech is a listed contractor for Ohop Mutual's State HEAR rebate program. Ask us about rebates during your free estimate.
Is the federal heat pump tax credit still available?
No. According to the IRS, the federal energy efficient home improvement credit (section 25C), which covered up to $2,000 for qualifying heat pumps, does not apply to equipment installed after December 31, 2025. Utility rebates, such as those from Ohop Mutual Light Company and PSE, may still help lower your cost. We can walk you through current options.
Do heat pumps work in Eatonville's cold weather?
Yes, when the system is chosen and sized for your home. Some heat pumps lose heating power as temperatures drop and rely more on backup heat, while cold-climate models are designed to keep heating in colder weather. We install Goodman heat pumps and can install other brands, and we will talk through backup heat options so your home stays comfortable.
Heat pump or furnace: which is right for my home?
It depends on your current fuel, your ductwork, your budget, and how often you lose power. A heat pump heats and cools with one system. A furnace uses less electricity, which can make it easier to run on a generator during an outage. We will look at your home, explain the options in plain English, and give you a free estimate.
What is the difference between a ductless mini-split and a heat pump?
A ductless mini-split is a type of heat pump. It does not need ductwork: an outdoor unit connects to one or more indoor units mounted in the rooms you want to heat and cool. That works well for homes with baseboard heat, additions, shops, and garages. A ducted heat pump uses your home's existing ducts. Flow Tech installs both.
Can a Generac generator run my heat pump or furnace during an outage?
Usually, yes, if the generator is sized correctly. A furnace blower uses far less power than a heat pump, and electric backup heat uses a lot more. Flow Tech is an authorized Generac dealer and Generac service certified, with two Generac-certified service technicians. We size the generator for what you want to keep running and install it with the required permits.
Do I need a permit for a new heat pump, furnace, or generator?
In most cases, yes. Washington requires permits and inspections for most heating and electrical installs, and Washington L&I says whoever does the electrical work must buy the electrical permit. When Flow Tech does your install, we pull the permits for it, so you do not have to handle the paperwork yourself.
How much is a service call, and do you serve my area?
