What’s included on every heat pump job

  • A properly matched outdoor unit and indoor unit
  • Standard installation, using your existing ductwork
  • Removal and disposal of your old equipment (included on every job)
  • Permits pulled when required
  • A walk-through of your new system and thermostat before we leave
  • Clean-up when we’re done. We protect your floors and leave your home the way we found it

Sometimes a home needs a little more. Things like ductwork changes, a crane for a hard-to-reach spot, or a cover for the outdoor lines can add to the price. Some homes may also need panel or circuit work; if it’s needed, we’ll discuss it at your visit. You’ll always know about any of this before work begins.

Good, Better, Best: pick what fits your home and budget

Good: single-stage heat pump
Dependable heating and cooling at the lowest upfront cost. It runs at one steady speed, on or off. A great fit for smaller homes and straightforward replacements.

Better: variable-speed heat pump (Recommended for most homes)
It speeds up and slows down to match what your home needs, instead of blasting on and off. That means steadier temperatures, quieter running and more even comfort room to room.

Best: cold-climate variable-speed heat pump
Everything in Better, built to keep heating strongly when the temperature drops. A smart choice for homes that rely fully on the heat pump through cold snaps, foothill and mountain areas, or anyone who wants the most comfort.

Not sure which one is right? That’s what the free in-home visit is for. We’ll look at your home, size the system properly and tell you honestly which option makes sense, even if it’s the less expensive one.

Rebates are not taken off the prices shown, they’re subject to each utility’s eligibility rules, funding is limited, and offers can change or end at any time. Heat pump questions

How much does a heat pump cost in the Eatonville area?

For a whole-home ducted heat pump, typical prices range from about $9,250 for a smaller home with our Good option to about $24,000 for a large home with our Best cold-climate option, sales tax included for Eatonville. Your exact price depends on your home’s size, your ductwork and the option you choose. The final price is set at your free in-home visit.

Does a heat pump work in Western Washington winters?

Yes. Heat pumps are widely used here, and our mild, damp winters suit them well. For homes in colder foothill and mountain areas, or anyone who wants extra heating power on the coldest nights, our Best option is a cold-climate heat pump built to keep heating strongly as temperatures drop.

Can a heat pump replace my furnace or keep it as a backup?

Both are possible. A heat pump can take over all of your heating and cooling, or it can be paired with your gas furnace so the furnace backs it up on the coldest days (often called a hybrid or dual-fuel system). We’ll talk through which setup fits your home at your free visit.

Can you use my existing ductwork?

In most homes, yes. Our price ranges assume your existing ducts are reused. If we find ducts that need changes to work well with a new system, we’ll show you what we found and the price before any work begins.

Is removal of my old system included?

Yes. Removal and disposal of your old equipment is included on every job.

Do you pull permits?

Yes, permits pulled when required. Permit costs are included in our price ranges.

Are there rebates for heat pumps?

Some utilities offer them. Ohop Mutual and PSE both list heat pump rebates for eligible customers. As of October 2026, PSE lists $1,500 for qualifying heat pump projects, or $2,400 to $4,000 for income-qualified homes. Rebates are set by each utility, funding is limited, and offers can change or end at any time, so we’ll help you check what you may qualify for at your free estimate. Rebates are not taken off the prices we show.

Can I finance a heat pump?

Yes. We offer financing through Optimus Financing with one simple online application. Subject to credit approval.
